Manhattan Seems So Grey
28 Nov 2010
Manhattan seems so grey during winter.
The buildings, pavements, echoes a hard edge, stone canvas ground. A painter would dip his brush into his palette and brush the groundworks of his paper with a soft, pale grey wash. It will set the mood of a normal cold, winter afternoon.
The people walking on the sidewalks and the streets of Manhattan, wears a long black coat. It is subdue, quiet, everything seems to camouflage into the background, all except the bright yellow cabs that drives by.
Only during the holidays when the streets are decorated with the colorful blinking lights, it reminds you that the holidays are here. All of a sudden, the streets are filled with burst of colors. The excitement of shoppers and visitors brings new life to this exciting city.
While most New Yorkers would sometimes try to blend in; this white little truck with eyes drawn in the back, greets everyone.
The back windows of this white truck, looks like a mouth shape. The eyes looking at everyone that walks by.
While some might noticed those eyes starring at them, bringing some sort of discomfort, others find it entertaining and fun. There is always something different in New York City, sometimes it breaks the silence.
A lonely persons would say to a stranger, “Did you see that truck with the eyes?” As the silence is broken with welcoming words, the little truck with the eye has done his job. He has helped someone made a friend.
